In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful, the Truthful and the Most Just: I greet all of you once again who are hungry and thirsty for Allah’s understanding of His righteousness: I greet you all with the greeting words of peace: May Allah’s-Salaam-Alaikum.
Brothers and Sisters, I’m going to skip what we normally do, but I will answer your questions later.
We have a distinguished guest this evening, and I want to go right to him. [The Son of Man reads Sergeant Major Bowman’s biography] It’s Sergeant Major Pastor James O. Bowman Sr.
The date and place of his birth is the 19th of October 1947, and he was born in Edgefield, South Carolina.
His parents are Thomas Odell and Ada Bowman. He entered the U.S. Army on the 14th of November 1966. He retired the 1st of December 1996, so he’s a 30 year Army veteran.
His married life is that he’s been married to Mrs. Betty Jean Bowman, and between the two of them, they have seven children.
As far as religion, he was reborn in June 1989, which means he repented of his sins; and he was ordained as a servant of God, a deacon, on the 27th of November 1994 under the shepherdship of Reverend Eddie D. Sumbler, the pastor at Atterberry Chapel Church in Frankfurt, Germany.
Currently, he’s a member of New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi since September of 1996, where he served on the deacon board from September 1996 through April 1998.
He was called by God to preach the gospel and received his certificate of license to preach on the 19th of April 1998. He was ordained by the Baptist Association on the 24th of July 1998 at New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
He served as an associate minister under the shepherdship of Reverend Robert L. Miller, teaching Sunday School and Bible Study to the youth at New Mount Zion for three years, and preaching the gospel throughout the community.
In September 2000, he was elected Pastor at New Poplar Grove Independent Methodist Church, and served there until September 2012.
Presently, he’s the pastor of New Beginning Church in Christ since September 2012, where he’s happily married to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He was employed with the Vicksburg-Warren School District for 14 years as a Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) instructor, doing the will of God, and motivating young people to be better citizens. He retired in June of 2010.
He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of We Care Community Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of God’s Appointed People (GAP); and he’s a Vice Chairman of GAP Ministries, and he heads up the Hospital/Convalescent Ministry; Past President of The Vicksburg Chapter of the NAACP; he’s a Life Member of The Ninth and Tenth Buffalo Soldier (Horse) Cavalry Association (Black Military History); Life Member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); a Life Member of the Non-commissioned Officer’s Association U.S. Army and Life Member of The American Legion, Post b213.
He served two tours in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, battalion 17, a First Cavalry Division; MACV 1968-1969: IRAZ 1991 Med. Troop, 2nd ACR.
Awards: he received a Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Medal (1st OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1st OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Vietnam Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (W/2 Bronze Service Star), Valorous Unit Award, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (W/NUM 3), Army Service Ribbon, Hoverses Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (W/NUM 4), Kuwait-Liberation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and Drill Sergeant.
As you can see, our guest has some very impressive credentials, and I kind of fumbled reading some of it. For that, I apologize.
I want to now introduce you and me for the first time, as I am meeting him for the first time: Sergeant Major James O. Bowman Sr.
Sergeant Major, you can press 5* on your keypad, and the brother will see your hand go up and he will unmute you if you are in the 601 conference room. And if you are in the 717 conference room, you can press *6 and it will unmute you. I want you to reintroduce yourself and straighten out whatever I messed up.
Sergeant Major Bowman: There is no straightening out what you messed up. [smiles] I’m one of those guys. I’m straight up. I’m like Paul I once was, but now I’m not what I was.
Son of Man: Yes sir.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s why you don’t see much on there about my credentials as far as going to school. I was called by God because I’ve seen it all. I’ve done a lot in my time. Two tours in Vietnam. You read it. Iraq. But one day I met Jesus just like Paul did, or Saul did, on my own Damascus road. So I was invited to come in and listen to you this evening.
Son of Man: I told all of my listeners and my followers that the only way that you can claim that you are teaching people the truth is you have to be willing to talk to anyone, especially people who don’t agree with you or who may not agree with you.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s the only way.
Son of Man: Then you can explain to people who don’t agree with you why they should agree with you; or they can explain to you why they shouldn’t agree with you, because you have something wrong.
So I’m not up here on an ego trip. I see you’re about three years older than me. I was born in 1950, so you’re my big brother. I had my 19th birthday in Vietnam.
I joined the Marine Corp in January of 1969, and by September of 1969, I was in Vietnam and I had my 19th birthday on November the 26th. I did a year over there.
As a matter of fact, I was with 3rd CAG (3rd Combined Action Group) in Phu Bai, and we rotated out the next year, and the Marine Corp started drawing down. They started ending our presence over there at that particular time, because they were drawing the Marines out of there.
I have great respect for you, and I want you to feel comfortable. I’m not going to rush you out of here.
If you disagree with me, you disagree, and we will address those disagreements and you feel free to be yourself and question me.
Question me all you want, and if I don’t know the answer, I will tell you, “I don’t know, sir.” If I don’t come to you from the Bible: the Scripture says in Romans 3:4,
…Yea, let God be true, but every man [be] a liar [who says something contrary to God];
Sergeant Major Bowman: Amen.
Son of Man: That is what will show you that I respect the Word of God. You show me Scriptures, and I respect God’s Word, that He has the last word on everything we say we believe in, if it is Him we are worshiping.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Yes sir.
Son of Man: I know that when people hear the term “Son of Man”: That will get a rise out of anybody if I’m coming and claiming to be the Son of Man. The Scripture says in Matthew 12:8,
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
So that’s my claim. I can’t get mad because people question me. So I want you to feel at home in here. This is not a bigoted forum. If I couldn’t answer questions on what I’m claiming to be, I shouldn’t be claiming to be that.
Sergeant Major Bowman: You’re right.
Son of Man: If you have any questions that you want to start with, then I’m at your disposal.
Sergeant Major Bowman: There’s one question I have: Do you believe the whole Bible or just certain portions of it?
Son of Man: The Scripture says in 2nd Timothy 3:16,
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Sergeant Major Bowman: All. Okay.
Son of Man: I believe in the whole Bible and I believe in the Holy Quran.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Why do you believe in the Holy Quran?
Son of Man: Because the Bible tells you that the Holy Quran is coming after it in Malachi the 3rd chapter and the 16th verse. I’ll start there. It says,
Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
The Book of Remembrance was the Holy Quran. It is the Reminder.
When you bring something to someone’s remembrance, you remind them of a thing; and if you open the Holy Quran, it talks about the Bible. It talks about the Torah and the Gospel, and it mentions Jesus and Moses and Mary.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Well let me ask you a question.
Son of Man: Yes sir.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Who does the Old Testament point to?
Son of Man: The Old Testament and the New Testament both point to –
Sergeant Major Bowman: I asked you who does the Old Testament point to?
Son of Man: The Old Testament points to the Son of Man.
Sergeant Major Bowman: And the Son of Man is who?
Son of Man: You’re talking to him.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Jesus Christ.
Son of Man: Okay, let’s see. Many of the people who teach Christianity think that the Son of Man is Jesus Christ (Jesus the Christ), and what they fail to understand is that they are only half-correct. [Go to] the 25th chapter of Matthew and the 31st verse. I’ll start reading there. This is Jesus talking.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Yes.
Son of Man: It says,
When the Son of man shall come in his glory…
He didn’t say “when I shall come in my glory”. He said,
When the Son of man shall come in his glory…
He’s talking about someone else. It says,
…And all the holy angels with him…
Sergeant Major Bowman: Stop right there.
Son of Man: Yes sir?
Sergeant Major Bowman: Are all of the angels with you?
Son of Man: Yes sir. Remember when Paul said in 2nd Corinthians 5:6-8,
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home [present] in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
He said, “As I am at home [or present] in the body, I am absent from the Lord. But I would rather be absent from the body and be present with the Lord.”
Well the mind that was in Paul: It’s just like how you and I are speaking right now. Your mind is addressing my mind.
When most people are having a conversation, they think it’s flesh talking to each other; but it’s the mind that’s in your flesh talking to and addressing the mind that’s in my flesh, and as long as I’m physically alive, this mind that’s in me is absent from any student of mine. But if I pass away, then the knowledge and understanding that I left behind in books or whatever would be present with a humble and respectful and studious student.
So Paul was like Jesus. Jesus said in John 12:47-48,
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
So just like Paul, all of the Messengers of God: Their words are absent from the body that they came in; but now I was told, “Son of Man, take the Book and eat it up and then go and speak with My words.” Ezekiel 2:9-10 says,
9 And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
10 And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
Ezekiel 3:1-4 says,
1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
So now they are present with me: all of them. I have all of the Holy Scriptures up here, not just the Bible. I have the Holy Quran. All 66 Books of the Bible, and a Book that came 600 years after the Bible, which is the Holy Quran; and I have them both, and I teach from both.
So all of the Holy Angels, or Holy Prophets, are with me, and their Words are with me; and that’s why I invite brothers like yourself who take the Word of God seriously to come in here and examine me.
What you are doing right now is an examination, and I would hope that you have a whole panel of brothers or ministers who are knowledgeable of the Word of God that can come in, and one-by-one, ask me questions; because the claim that I am making is a claim that you don’t hear everyday from people.
Sergeant Major Bowman: You’re right. 1st Thessalonians 4.
Son of Man: You said 1st Thessalonians the 4th chapter.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Starting at verse 13.
Son of Man: Okay. It says,
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep…
“Asleep” there means “dead”. Remember when Jesus was talking about Lazarus?
Sergeant Major Bowman: They are dead.
Son of Man: Yes. Those who are spiritually dead. It says,
13 …That ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus…
See now, they went through the Bible, and every place where they saw “Son of Man”, they put “Jesus”. They put the word “Jesus” there.
Sergeant Major Bowman: How do you know this?
Son of Man: I told you. I’m the Son of Man. [smiles]
Just a moment. I’ll give you something else to hang your hat on.
You notice, at the beginning of the Bible, it says, “This is the authorized King James version and it has been translated out of the original tongue and has been diligently compared and revised.”
You see, this is a history of them. Every place they see “Christ”, sometimes they put “Jesus” in front of it. They put “Jesus” in front of the title “Christ”.
Well, Jesus was the Christ; for “Christ” means “the anointed”; but every place that you see Christ, you’re not supposed to see Jesus’ name in front of it, because Isaiah was the anointed when he was here. David was the anointed when he was here. Isaiah 61:1 said,
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me…
David said in Psalms 23:5,
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil;
So the term “Christ” when it’s used correctly by itself is not talking about one individual. It’s talking about the whole group. It’s a body of men, like Congress.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Okay.
Son of Man: Congress is a body, but there are Congressmen. There are Representatives in the House. In the Senate, you call them Senators. The whole body is called Congress.
Well the whole body of Prophets and Messengers were called Christ; and that’s 1st Corinthians 12:12.
Sergeant Major Bowman: I know.
Son of Man: Oh, you’re familiar with it. It says,
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
So Christ has many members. David, Solomon, Isaiah, Hosea, Jeremiah, Amos, Daniel, Moses, Jesus, Paul, Mohammed: all of them. 2nd Timothy 3:16 says,
All scripture is given by inspiration of God…
Well then, all of the Messengers of God were anointed. If they were all anointed, then they were all Christ.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Keep on reading the 14th verse.
Son of Man: Okay. Then the 14th verse of 1st Thessalonians the 4th chapter says,
For if we believe that [Christ] died and rose again…
Sergeant Major Bowman: It didn’t say Christ. It said Jesus.
Son of Man: I know, but the Scripture says –
Sergeant Major Bowman: Do you believe in Christ?
Son of Man: Yes. I believe in all of them.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Okay, well put Christ… Read the Bible as presented to us.
Son of Man: Okay, I’ll read it as you see it down here, but I just showed you that they got that wrong. The Bible says Jesus didn’t die on a cross. That’s why the soldiers broke the legs of the one that was on Jesus’ left, and they broke the legs of the one on his right; and when they came to Jesus, they said they saw that he was dead already.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Back up now. Back up. When Jesus gave up the ghost on the cross, what happened?
Son of Man: When Jesus gave up the ghost, Jesus said a prayer. That’s what giving up the –
Sergeant Major Bowman: No.
Son of Man: Just a moment. What is the Holy Ghost?
Sergeant Major Bowman: The Holy Spirit.
Son of Man: Okay, what is the Spirit?
Sergeant Major Bowman: It’s the ghost.
Son of Man: Okay. Now I want you to read something for me. Turn to John the 6th chapter, and I want you to read the 62nd and 63rd verses.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Okay. John 6?
Son of Man: Then read verse 62 and verse 63.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Okay. Let’s start at 60.
Son of Man: No, I started where you asked me to, and now I want you to start where I asked you to.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Ah, okay. It says,
62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Son of Man: Okay, I took you over there so that you could see what spirit is.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Yes.
Son of Man: Okay, you’ve already acknowledged that the spirit is the ghost, and the ghost is the spirit; and I told you that when Jesus gave up the ghost, what he did was: he bowed his head and he said a prayer while he was hanging up on that cross. That’s what “giving up the ghost” was.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Okay, when he gave up the ghost…
Son of Man: He gave up a prayer to God.
Sergeant Major Bowman: And what happened after that?
Son of Man: The people asked for the bodies to be taken down because they didn’t want those people up there moaning and groaning on the Sabbath Day. So they went and partitioned for their legs to be broken –
Sergeant Major Bowman: Okay, no, no. Something happened when he gave up the ghost.
Son of Man: Yes. It was finished. Let’s go and read it. We won’t have to paraphrase it. I took you there because I wanted you to see this. In the 19th chapter of John starting at the 31st verse, it says,
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day…
Wait a minute. You asked me what happened after he gave up the ghost, so let’s go up a little bit further here. Let’s go to the 28th verse. It says,
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost [meaning, he said a prayer].
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
Now let me stop here and comment that you and I both know that there are no vital organs in your hands and in your feet; and if somebody takes you and nails you to a cross through your hands and through your feet or ankles, that’s not going to kill you right away. So that’s why they were going to break their legs. It says,
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with [Jesus].
Now, they weren’t dead. It says,
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
Look at what it says. It says, “and saw that he was dead already”.
You can’t look at somebody and tell if they are dead. So it says,
33 …They brake not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith [“forthwith” means “immediately”] came there out blood and water.
Now when the soldier pierced his side, he stuck Jesus to see if he was dead; and the man saw blood come out immediately.
Blood doesn’t come out of a dead body immediately, because there isn’t any pressure.
You’ve pricked your skin before, and the minute you prick it, blood comes out, because it’s under pressure. But when your heart stops beating, there is no pressure. So look at what the soldier did. It says,
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
That you might believe what? That Jesus was not dead.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s right. He was not dead.
Son of Man: He was not dead.
I don’t just trust that. Over in the Holy Quran –
Sergeant Major Bowman: Now wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. You just told me earlier that you believe the whole Bible.
Son of Man: Yes I do. Just a minute. I said I trust the Bible. I don’t trust people’s interpretation of it.
Sergeant Major Bowman: But you don’t believe what you just read.
Son of Man: Wait a minute. Just a moment. I do believe what I just read. You just don’t understand.
I can’t get mad because people question me. So I want you to feel at home in here. This is not a bigoted forum. If I couldn’t answer questions on what I’m claiming to be, I shouldn’t be claiming to be that.

When I said that I was going to make sure that I’m believing right, I’m going to the Holy Quran, for it addresses that in chapter 4 and verse 157. I’m going to start reading at verse 157.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Hold on, let me get the Quran.
Son of Man: Okay. See, he has the Holy Quran. [smiles]
I’m so proud to be talking with you, Sergeant Major. Or would you prefer “Pastor”?
Sergeant Major Bowman: You can call me James.
Son of Man: No, I’m not going to get on a first name basis with you yet. I’ll call you by your title: Sergeant Major James or Pastor James?
Sergeant Major Bowman: Either one is fine.
Son of Man: Okay, now turn to chapter 4 in the Holy Quran and verse 157. I’m going to start reading from there.
Sergeant Major Bowman: I’m getting my Quran to come up.
Son of Man: Yes sir, take your time.
Sergeant Major Bowman: You go ahead. I’ll listen.
Son of Man: Do you trust me?
Sergeant Major Bowman: Yeah.
Son of Man: Okay. It says,
And for their saying: We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah, and they killed him not, nor did they cause his death on the cross, but he was made to appear to them as such.
What did the soldier say? They saw that he was dead already. Jesus appeared to them as dead.
That’s what the Holy Quran is saying. Then it says,
And certainly those who differ therein are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge about it, but only follow a conjecture [a guess], and they killed him not for certain:
Jesus didn’t die on a cross. Jesus died after he saw his disciples again. They found out that Jesus had not died on a cross, and they went to the tomb and found that he wasn’t there; and they sent the sheriff out looking for him. When he found him, he told Jesus, “You know they are going to kill you anyway. If you let me kill you, I will kill you so quick.”
This is the report that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave us that Allah gave him. So after Jesus spoke to his disciples and told them that his work was done, then he departed.
You notice that they say the “dearly departed”? Well, they stabbed him in his heart, and then he died. That’s what happened to Jesus.
The Bible says that after he greeted his followers, he departed; and that was that. But he didn’t die on the cross.
You know what they call that today. They call it “attempted murder”. So that’s what they did to Jesus.
Remember what Jesus said about the Jews. You know the Jews don’t believe in Jesus to this day.
Sergeant Major Bowman: True.
Son of Man: They don’t believe in him because he called them devils.
Sergeant Major Bowman: What about those who believe in the Muslim Quran?
Son of Man: Well, anyone who claims to believe in the Quran or the Bible, they really don’t know if they believe in them or not, because they don’t understand them. That’s written in the Bible. The Bible says in Revelation 5:1,
1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 And no man in heaven [meaning, no prophet], nor in earth [no scholar], neither under the earth [no man who had lived and died], was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
That wasn’t to take place until my arrival. That’s why I’m so thankful that you are in here questioning me, and giving me the opportunity to show you that I do understand the Book and where to find the Truth in the Book.
If you notice, the Scripture also says, Pastor James, in 2nd Peter 1:20,
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
That’s Paul’s words. The Holy Quran 6:115 says,
Shall I then seek a judge other than Allah, when He it is Who has sent down to you the Book fully explained.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Well which one came first?
Son of Man: Which came first? The Bible did. The Book of Moses came first, otherwise, the Holy Quran couldn’t be a Reminder. If the Holy Quran came first, it isn’t a Reminder of anything.
The Bible came first. The Book of Moses; and then 2000 years after Moses, the Book called Gospel, Jesus. But when you look at the Bible, you would think that all of the Prophets came at the same time because –
Sergeant Major Bowman: No, no, no.
Son of Man: Because it all agrees with each other, but they never met each other. That is one of the miracles of the Book. Jesus and Moses never met each other.
When you look at the Prophets, they all brought parts. As Paul said in 1st Corinthians 13:9,
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
Then he said in verse 12,
For now we see through a glass, darkly;
That’s because, like Daniel said in Daniel 4:5,
I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
Daniel was looking at things and seeing things; but they were darkness to him.
Sergeant Major Bowman: It was darkness to those who don’t believe.
Son of Man: It’s darkness so that you would not be held accountable for all of the sins that you have been committing.
Remember: God is just. The reason that none of us are going to be held accountable for all of the sins that we did, is because the instruction in righteousness was sealed up. Nobody could open it. So the Book says in Romans 3:10,
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Sergeant Major Bowman: Not one. I agree.
Son of Man: So God had to declare that He was going to give birth to One of us; and that’s who I am.
I am the Son of Man, and this day, as He said to me in Psalms 2:7,
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
He’s the One that called me “Son of Man”. He’s the One that opened up my understanding to His Word.
I didn’t understand the Bible. I put the Bible down a long time ago, and my mother used to make me go to church, vacation Bible school, and all that.
I’ve known the Bible from the time I was a little boy, and I’ve known it like somebody knows the ABC’s but I didn’t understand it; and every time I’d pick it up to try to read it, I would read a little and think I understood; and then I would read further and realize that what I thought I understood wasn’t right. I said, I can’t understand this; and I left it alone.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Go back to Thessalonians. You say that you are the Son of Man? You are the Lord that has come down to us, right?
Son of Man: I am the Lord that has come down, and I’m coming to you from heaven right now. Let me show you. This is 1st Thessalonians, and we left off at verse 14 in chapter 4. It says,
For if we believe that Jesus died…
I’m the One who died spiritually. It says,
…And rose again, even so them also which sleep in [Christ] will God bring with him.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Stop right there.
Son of Man: Yes.
Sergeant Major Bowman: So you rose again?
Son of Man: Yes sir. That’s what 400 years over here under White people has done to us.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Stop now. I was dead in sin. That’s why I wrote my bio the way it is, so that people would know that I have not always been like this.
Son of Man: Well it is true that we all were dead in sin. All of us were.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s right.
Son of Man: There’s not a person that’s walking the Earth that has been living for the past 6,000 years that has not been dead in sin. We all were spiritually dead, ignorant, and we were doing things that we thought was righteousness; and Isaiah said it perfectly. He said in Isaiah 64:6,
But we are all as an unclean thing…
Because our minds were unclean. Our minds were unclean, so we were all as we thought; and our thoughts were unclean. It says,
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses [our religions] are as filthy rags;
Sergeant Major Bowman: You’re right. I agree. I know that too. Now continue on with 15.
Son of Man: Okay. So 1st Thessalonians 4:15 says,
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord [the Son of Man], that we which are alive and remain [faithful] unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
Why? Because the Lord Himself is the Resurrector of the dead.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s right. That’s it. He’s the Resurrector of the dead.
Son of Man: Now it says,
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven…
In the military, they say this kind of stuff: “That’s above my paygrade”. [smiles] And you know what they say about boo-boo: it rolls downhill. [smiles]
What I’m saying is that whenever you attempt to read something [and] you have not come from that school of thought, that knowledge that’s in that book is above your head. It’s over your head. So the Scripture says,
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven…
There are eight heavens. The seven heavens that the Scripture talks about are the continents that we are on, as Genesis teaches us that. In the Book of Genesis chapter 1 verse 6,
And God said, Let there be a firm-ment in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
So the continents of the Earth: If you take the continents all away, there wouldn’t be but one great body of water.
Sergeant Major Bowman: One great body of water. That’s it. You’re right.
Son of Man: So the continents divide the waters from the waters, and there are seven continents. So there are seven heavens; and God made the heavens. As He said in verse 7,
7 And God made the firm-ment, and divided the waters which were under the firm-ment [heavens] from the waters which were above the firm-ment [heavens]: and it was so.
8 And God called the firm-ment Heaven.
So we are walking around on the physical heavens. The spiritual heaven is the Holy Scriptures.
This is what I’m coming to everybody out of right now. I am coming to you out of the Holy Scriptures. So I’m coming down from heaven.
Sergeant Major Bowman: What about the spirit?
Son of Man: Yes, the mind that’s in me. Remember, the Scripture says in John 6:63,
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
My body is standing here. It’s my mind that is ascending up into the Scripture and coming down. So 1st Thessalonians 4:16 says,
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout…
Sergeant Major Bowman: And what does it mean by shout?
Son of Man: Meaning, He gave me the spirit of boldness, and not of what you call fear.
Sergeant Major Bowman: And where did it come from? Did it come from the Holy Ghost?
Son of Man: Yes. You know, even when it’s not the Holy Word but just the truth: you notice, you tell a child what the ABC’s are, and another child will be reciting and messing up, and the other one will shout at him and say, “That isn’t right!” He gets bold with it.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s the same thing for adults, when they say, “I should have followed my first mind.”
Son of Man: So the Book says,
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice [or the Words] of the archangel…
The Bible and the Holy Quran are the Covenant of Allah. They are the Covenant of God. It’s like when Noah built that ark for his animals and his family and those who were with him that God intended to save.
Well the Bible and the Quran are the Ark of the Covenant.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Answer me a question since you want to go to Genesis 6. Why did Noah build the ark?
Son of Man: Because God told him to.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Well what was wrong with the world?
Son of Man: The imagination of men’s hearts was only evil continually, just like now.
Sergeant Major Bowman: All of the hearts were evil.
Son of Man: Look at the conversation you and I are having. You can’t have this kind of conversation with everybody.
Sergeant Major Bowman: I know! I know!
Son of Man: Sometimes religious people are the most hateful people.
Sergeant Major Bowman: Well I’m not religious. I’m a Christian. I believe in Christ.
Son of Man: Like I said, my mother was like you. My mother was a Christian, but she didn’t realize, just like you don’t realize: When you are practicing what’s in the Bible, you’re not practicing Christianity. You are practicing Islam.
And when you submit to God’s Word, that’s the very meaning of the word “Muslim”. It means, “one who submits to the Word of God.”
So I don’t care what you’re calling yourself. I’m looking at what you’re doing; and if you respect God’s Word, as Jesus said in John 10:16,
And other sheep I have, which are not of this [particular] fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one [sheep] fold, and one shepherd.
So, there’s nothing happening that’s not written.
It’s just like this conversation that you and I are having: We are having a brotherly conversation because you respect the Word of God, and I respect the Word of God.
I had nine siblings. I can name them: Jerome, Laverne, Melvin, Addison, Bernard, Lawrence, Yvonne, Geraldine, James; and you notice: they all have different names, but we have the same father and mother.
So I don’t care anything about you calling yourself “Christian”, or somebody over there calling themselves “Jew”. I’m more concerned about how you feel about the Word of God; and if you submit and believe in God’s word, then we are brothers, and we are going to be fine.
Sergeant Major Bowman: That’s what it all boils down to.
Son of Man: That’s right.
