Learn to Listen to All Aspects of Truth

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful, the Truthful and the Most Just: I greet all of you once again who are hungry and thirsty for Allah’s understanding of His righteousness: I greet you all with the greeting words of peace: May Allah’s-Salaam-Alaikum.

The first thing I want to do is give those who have disagreements with us or arguments: This is the place where you come to do that, and I would be more than happy to entertain your questions or your arguments. 

You know, I’ve offered you $50,000 if you can prove that I am not the Son of Man. 

Actually, you would be doing me a favor; because if I’m what I think I am, then I know that I have a responsibility to try and save everybody. Allah said I’m to warn both the wicked and the righteous to save their life. As it is written in Luke 19:10, 

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

That’s a big responsibility, especially when the people that you’re trying to save would like to kill you. It isn’t any fun if that’s what you’re thinking. 

No, it’s not any fun being insulted by people just for trying to save their life. 

This is what I’ve been suffering for the past 40-something years, and believe me, it’s getting old. Even when you try to honor people, they talk crazy to you. It’s just crazy. 

I remember when the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, “Sometimes I wonder if you have a brain in your head.” [smiles] 

You have to laugh or otherwise it could really get on your last nerve; but what can you say? I was just thinking over how much all of what is written in the Scriptures couldn’t be from any place but the Lord of the Worlds. 

I was thinking about where the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was talking about the internet, before the internet existed. Jesus talked about it. Jesus said this in the 13th chapter and the 47th verse of Matthew. He’s speaking parables here. He said, 

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

What’s another way of saying “every people”? What’s another name for a “net”?

Engineer: A trap. 

Son of Man: Spiders carry them on their back. Well what is another way of saying every kind or every people?

Engineer: Worldwide web.

Son of Man: Worldwide web. Jesus talked about this 2,000 years ago. How did he know? Mohammed was talking about the stages that a lifegerm goes through 1400 years ago. He was describing what happens in the womb of a woman. The Holy Quran 32:2 says,

The revelation of the Book, there is no doubt in it, is from the Lord of the worlds.

Look what Matthew 13:47 says. 

It says,

⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

⁴⁸ Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down…

What do you do when you’re on the internet? Most people sit down. It says,

…And gathered the good into vessels…

What does it mean, they “gathered the good into vessels”? 

Well, you notice: the people who seek goodness gather all of the good things. It’s like right now: those of you who are seeking the Word of God are on the internet gathering what I’m sharing with you; and the way you know that I must be sharing the Truth with you, is that all of the other people who claim to be representing God are afraid to face me. 

Come on. I mean, if you have a whole bunch of people walking around in police uniforms that are faking, what happens when a real policeman comes up? They start leaving. They don’t want to be questioned by him, do they? Because they know what’s going to happen when he asks them what precinct they’re out of and looks at their badges. 

He’ll say, “What are you doing over here? You’re not in our precinct. What are you doing in this area? Where are you from?” 

Next thing you know, the cuffs come out, and he calls for backup if there’s a group of them. 

They don’t want to meet a real officer… just like you who claim that you are God’s representatives don’t want to meet a real representative [of God]. That’s why you don’t come in here and talk to me.   

Certainly, when Jesus came on the scene, when he saw John, John was glad to meet him. When Moses was at the bush and he and Jehovah were speaking, and Aaron was coming: Jehovah told him, “Aaron, your brother, is coming and he’s going to be glad to see you.” Exodus 4:14 says,

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

Nobody who loves God hates to see a Messenger of God. 

Anything that people want to say to me, I’ve already told them that this is a public forum. I don’t do private teachings. Whatever you want to say to me, I want everybody to hear it. That’s very necessary. 

I learned that from the court system of this world. You notice, you very seldom hear someone claim that they didn’t get a fair or just hearing, especially if they are a White [person] in America. You very seldom hear them claim that. 

Do you know why? 

Because the public is allowed in there to see it. They are allowed in there to hear what went on. 

A lot of times, people will be disrespectful to the judge, and the judge will hold them in contempt and order them to be jailed; but what if it all took place in private? Then they could come out and lie and say that they were thrown in jail for nothing. 

It’s just like with Donald Trump: He tried to come out and lie on the judge. 

It was on the news when Trump was playing golf and he said that he was going to get back by Monday to face that woman (E. Jean Carroll). His attorney had rested the case. He didn’t have any more evidence to put on, and he (the attorney) had said that Donald Trump wasn’t going to testify. 

The judge, being aware that Trump had made the statement [about coming back to face E. Jean Caroll in court], even if he hadn’t told his attorney, [he said] that he wanted to come back and face this woman. So the judge postponed his ruling to give Donald Trump a chance to come and take the stand. 

After you rest, generally that’s the end of it. But the judge bent over backwards to accommodate Mr. Trump to come in and testify; but he didn’t come in and testify. 

So, I know that people lie. Man, you could have talked to a person a minute ago, and they will go back and misrepresent what you said. 

It’s just like that game “Pass It Around” that we played in school. Man, if you don’t have witnesses, people can say you said anything. But if you do it in public and do it in front of witnesses, when they go to lie, somebody is going to tell them, “No, no, no, you got him wrong. That isn’t what he said.” 

I’m going to tell you something: When people hate you in this world, they don’t listen to you anyway. You didn’t learn anything from the Godfather, did you? 

Do you remember the advice that the man (Don Corleone) gave his son (Michael)? He said, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” 

He didn’t have to draw him a picture. What he was telling Michael was, “Look: Pay attention and watch your friends closely, but watch your enemies even more closely.” 

He also meant, listen to your friends closely. That’s respectful. But listen even closer to your enemies, because if you know who your friends are, you don’t have to watch your back when you are around them. But your enemies will do all they can to hurt you, so you should listen to them closely. 

So there’s much locked up in there. Do you remember when he told Michael, “We’ve got a traitor among us. Someone is going to set up a meeting for you, and whoever sets the meeting for you is going to do it in their territory and make you feel safe.” 

It turned out to be Salvatore Tessio (the actor who played “Fish”). Michael’s daddy was no dummy. His daddy wasn’t a coward either, and so consequently, he knew the signs of other people who were not so much as cowards, but he knew how they rolled. 

So you have to learn that just because you don’t like a person, if you are justified in not liking them, why are you afraid to listen to them? 

For instance, they may have stood for something that you don’t stand for. Well the one thing about people that [makes us] different from animals, is that people change. 

How many times have you been asked about something, and somebody said, “Well you said that you weren’t going to do this or you weren’t going to do that”: And you said, “I changed my mind.” 

When you are justified to dislike a person, your reason for disliking them has nothing to do with their person or what they look like. Your dislike of them has to do with something that they stand for or that they are doing. 

That’s why it’s so important to listen to people and to watch people. I remember the Messenger (the Honorable Elijah Muhammad) said this to me as well as to all of the other members of the Nation of Islam. He said, “Be careful about disliking one another, because what you may dislike in a brother or a sister just might be an attribute of God.” 

It’s like me. I hate evil. It doesn’t matter who the person is, they could be Black or White: if they repented of what I was angry with them about, I wasn’t angry anymore. It wasn’t personal. 

It’s kind of like “The Godfather” when they went to do something to each other, it was never personal. It was just business. That’s what they called it. They said, “It’s not personal, it’s just business.” 

When you start getting personal with it, you’ve got a problem. It is very important that we learn to listen to all aspects of Truth. That’s something I learned from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He was the one who pointed me in that direction. I will let you hear him, because he started me off in this direction that would guide me to where I needed to go.

Honorable Elijah Muhammad: And the Bible says, it is His own good will to do so. 

He takes the kingdom from whom He pleases and gives it to whom He pleases. So we had no kingdom. but He’s now giving to us a kingdom. This represents the kingdom.

Son of Man: See, as I go back and study what he was teaching, I realize, and he even said it: He said, “We are making an example for you.” 

Well you notice, when we had books (with mathematical problems especially), the math books: When you would be given division or subtraction or addition or multiplication, it always had an example of how to work the problem. 

I notice that none of you ever come in here and offer me what you claim to be salvation. I’m a human being. If you say I’m misleading people, how am I going to know that, if you won’t talk to me and prove that what I’m teaching is contrary to the Word of God?

Well, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said that the God takest the kingdom from whom He pleases and gives it to whom He pleases. He said, “And this is an example.” Or this represents the kingdom. This is what he was saying. 

An example is a representation of a thing. So eventually, I know that my people are not going to have any choice but to come to me. I know that because I’m going to be the only One left that they can come to and find peace. 

Even those who are ducking me, they don’t have any peace. They are just out there. 

It’s just like people [who] come to me and just get downright insulting. I’m out here working on this building trying to build an apartment building to provide some housing, and you know people come up to me and say, “How you coming?” 

I say, “Oh, it’s coming.”  

Then they say, “You aren’t through yet? What’s taking so long?” 

I say, “Well, I’m doing the best I can.”    

I mean, they won’t help, and then [they] have nerve enough to tell me it’s taking too long. Sometimes I’ll tell them, “Well you know, the Scripture says the harvest is ripe, but the laborers are few.” 

So it’ll be finished when it’s finished. I can’t set a time limit on it, because I’m doing more things than just out here working on this building. 

It’s just like with me. The Holy Quran answers the question about how you’re supposed to do with me. The Holy Quran 2:45 says, 

And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and this is hard except for the humble ones [except for those who humble themselves],

It’s just like how people think that because they wouldn’t help me, that I couldn’t do anything. But as I’ve told you, if you can do something with a lot, you can prove that by showing what you can do when you don’t have but a little. 

Since I don’t have a lot of folks that I can pull here right now to help me build, while I’m waiting and while I’m trying to get to the point where I can pull you to help me build, that doesn’t stop me from doing something. 

So I’m doing something as an individual instead of sitting down whining, talking about, “I need some help. I’ve got to get some help.” 

You don’t need any help if you’re not doing anything. Get up and do something.

So, nobody is giving us anything. There’s no government funding coming to me. We have to work, get the money, then spend it on material and stuff like that; and material isn’t cheap. It takes time and money. 

So yes, we are not going as fast as we would like, but compared to what the rest of the people who look like us are doing, we are doing plenty. We are going fast, because you haven’t shown me anything you’re doing. 

You are over there begging for a grant, and begging for something from them. 

I’m not a beggar. I’m not just doing stuff. I listen to my tutors. That’s what the Scripture refers to the Messengers of God as. They are the tutors of the Lord himself. In Galatians 4:1-2, it says,

¹ Now I say, That the heir [the inheritor], as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

² But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

Matthew 24:36 says,

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

So now listen to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He’s tutoring me now.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad: Sit him down over there. Crown him. 

_{[The Son of Man pauses the recording]}

Son of Man: Did you hear that? He said, “Sit him down over there and crown him.” 

You had a song that said, “When they crown him Lord of all, when they crown him Lord of all, man, I want to be in that number when they crown him Lord of all.” 

Why? Because that’s when the Saints will all go marching in. Well when the Son of Man shall come in his glory, guess who’s supposed to come with him? All the holy angels with him. Matthew 25:31 says,

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

That’s when the Saints come marching in. And you notice, they have crowned me Lord of all, because all you can do is throw insults at me. You don’t have any argument for me. 

You know, that’s the one thing about cursing. As long as all you can do is curse and pout and bark, you don’t have anything going. Emotionalism is not a force to shake this house. 

You know you really have it going on when all your enemies can do is cuss at you. Have you ever seen somebody that curses a lot when they are doing something, and they think they have it but it doesn’t work out, and they go to cursing? But cursing isn’t going to solve the problem. You have to figure the problem out. Anyway, listen to him.

Even when he said, “Sit him down over there”: What does the Scripture say to the Son of Man? “Son of Man, sit on my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” Psalms 110:1 says,

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Okay, now just listen. The Earth is my footstool. So when he says “make my enemies my footstool”, He’s saying “make enemies for me all over the Earth.” 

Why? 

Because He’s going to send me with the guidance and the true religion to overcome all of these false religions that they have made up. 

I notice that none of you ever come in here and offer me what you claim to be salvation. I’m a human being. If you say I’m misleading people, how am I going to know that, if you won’t talk to me and prove that what I’m teaching is contrary to the Word of God? 

You see, I have witnesses. I have all of the witnesses on every continent that’s listening to me that I offered every one of you that hate me so much: I offered to listen to you so you could straighten out whatever it is [that] I may have wrong; and you didn’t come in here and offer me any correction on anything I’ve taught. 

Now what does that say about you? You don’t want to talk to me because you hate the Truth. So listen to the Messenger. I’m going to show you how he gave me tutelage.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad: Put him on good shoes.

Son of Man: Ephesians 6:15 says,

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

“Put him on good shoes.” Good news.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad: Get up, brother, and recognize your brother that was lost and is now found. Get up. Give him a place at home. Come on in, brother. Praise be to Allah. 

He was lost and now he’s found. He was dead and now he’s alive. Come on in, brother. Have a seat, brother. Put him on a crown. This is it. Since the coming of God in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad and teaching you and me that He has searched the Earth, as it’s written, and now He has found us. Now what must be done? 

We cannot sit down. We cannot lay down. We must get up and go to work. Praises be to Allah. We want to thank the Chicago White people for making it possible for us to obtain the country club. For making it possible for us to get in such position where we could prove ourselves worthy of this position. We thank them.

Son of Man: You see, this is why I get some White people that hate me so much. It is because they can’t convert me to being like them. It’s like the Scripture says: If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he’s thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing, you are heaping coals of fire on his head, because he would have never done for you what you did for him; and that’s what is a witness against him, and for you, as to why the kingdom is being taken from him and given to you. Because I’m not hateful. Romans 12:20 says,

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

If you fill a container with liquid, what happens if you walk too fast with it? 

Engineer: If there’s liquid in it and you walk too fast with it, it’s going to spill out.

Son of Man: Yes, it’s going to spill out. Why?

Engineer: Because liquid moves. It’s not a solid. 

Son of Man: Well, that depends. On what?

Engineer: How big it is.

Son of Man: How big?

Engineer: It depends on how tall it is.

Son of Man: How tall? It depends on how full it is. It doesn’t have anything to do with being big or tall or whatnot. You can have it in a shot glass. Yeah, I know what a shot glass is. [smiles] You’re laughing because I know what a shot glass is. I wasn’t always this Son of Man. I was dead, man. 

But anyway, if you have a shot glass and you’re walking too fast with it, it will spill, because it’s full. 

All praise is due to Allah. You notice, if I was hate-full, every time I opened my mouth it would be like these people that you see throwing insults at me. They are hate-full, and every time you talk to them a little bit, that hatred that’s in them spills out; because they are full of hatred. 

And if you say God is love, who is the devil? The devil is hate. 

You don’t have to wonder who’s representing God and who’s representing the devil. Just find out who’s full of love and who’s full of hate, and you’ll know where the devil is. 

I just can’t walk around mad all day long. Even when I see people that mistreated me, I am hoping that they’ve changed, because look: If all a person did was cursed at you or called you a dirty name, you’re going to carry that like Jesus carried the cross? 

Do you mean to tell me that you have never said something to somebody that was insulting to them? Did you ever do that? 

If you lived in this world, I’d be surprised if you sat there and told me you have never done it. I have cursed at people before—before I came into the knowledge of Islam. I did a lot of those things. So why should I be surprised at other people who do the things that I was doing before I heard and accepted the Truth? 

So, you get over it. As long as they haven’t physically accosted or attacked me—if you haven’t physically attacked me, we’re good. But now, if you physically attack me, we have a problem; because I didn’t do that. 

If I cursed at somebody, I cursed at them and I didn’t just go over there and call myself beating on them. 

Look at what the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was doing. He said, “We want to thank the Chicago White people.” 

Why would we be thanking them and why would he be thanking them if he hated them? Have you ever seen somebody who actually hates somebody go up to them and thank them for something? I haven’t. Have you? 

So, I had to come to terms with what I thought the Honorable Elijah Muhammad felt about White people, and what I thought I understood of the teachings. Then as I went back over the teachings, I realized that I didn’t know anything. But that’s a good place to start: when you realize that you   really didn’t know. You thought you knew something because the only way you are going to truly find the answers is, you are going to have to have the questions and not be walking around thinking that just because you learned the alphabet, that now you’ve learned the whole English language. 

So the Honorable Elijah Muhammad left that last sermon here. That’s one thing I learned in the military, that no matter what orders you received, you always follow the last order first, because the last order may countermand all of those orders that you had before that. That’s because as with all wars, eventually they come to an end, and all of the orders that applied during wartime are countermanded when a peace agreement is reached. Then you cease all hostilities.

The Holy Quran says when they cease fighting with you, cease fighting with them. So the Messenger (the Honorable Elijah Muhammad) was thanking them, and everybody got quiet. There wasn’t too much witness-bearing when he started talking about how we need to thank them, and he said there’s White Muslims in America. 

Good gracious, man. The teachings are: “Are there any Muslims other than righteous?” The answer was: “I beg your pardon, I’ve never heard of one.” 

Well if white skin makes people devils, how could devils be Muslims? That’s a good question, isn’t it? Well that’s a question I had to ask myself. 

The Messenger was laying it out there and then I thought about it. He had been telling us that. Every Saviour’s Day, he talked about how Master Fard Muhammad’s father was a Black man, very much so (meaning, real dark). And His mother was a White woman. He went up in the hills and found himself a White wife. That’s what he said. 

Well the hills are the Messengers of God. The mountain is God. The next step down from a mountain is a hill. The next step down from God is a Messenger of God. The Scriptures teach you that. Proverbs 18:22 says,

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Now where has the Spirit of the Lord been? It’s been on the Messengers of God. So, he went into the hills, the Scriptures, and he found himself a White wife and made a good Muslim out of her. He helped her to understand the Scriptures and she submitted. Then he put his seed in her to produce a child that would look white and He could come here and search for the lost member. 

He came and found Elijah, and then told Elijah, “Now you go find the Son of Man to fulfill the Scriptures.” Malachi 4:5 says,

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD [the Son of Man]:

And that was done, and now you are in the day of the Son of Man. But the Honorable Elijah Muhammad had to first remind me that, “No, you aren’t here to destroy these people. You are here to save these people.” 

That’s because I thought I was supposed to be here to destroy somebody. [smiles] But he knew that I would have to grow up and realize that you don’t punish people for being what you made them.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad: They have did us a great favor. I don’t think that we have  nothing to do but honor and thank them for putting us in such position. This is their house, and We are here teaching the Truth. 

They’re not objecting to you teaching the Truth; as we have White Muslims in America, and lots of them. We have them all over the world, and they recognize and respect you. You must recognize and respect them. You don’t disrespect people that are trying to respect you. 

I remember the last time that I was out to the airport. They let me and my followers get on first.

Now remember: Their flag is still flying over America. Honor and respect the man because he still has his flag. There is much that can be interchanged between them and us in that way of respect. 

You don’t have to get up to try to make fun of them just because you have learned yourself, and now you have learned them. But remember that they show you respect after you have learned yourself. Show them respect too, because when you didn’t know yourself, you didn’t respect self, nor anyone else. 

We used to disgrace ourselves and them too, because we didn’t know ourselves. But now we respect ourselves and we respect them. Praise be to Allah.

Son of Man: This is what self-respect will do for you. Self-respect forces you to respect other people even when they’re disrespecting you. 

Why is that? It is because [when] a disrespectful person gets in public and disrespects you, the public that is civilized recognizes that the disrespectful person is being disrespectful; and the person that’s being disrespectful is not concerned about how they look in the eyes of civilized people; and if they can bait you into that arena with them to conduct yourself in that arena in an uncivilized, disrespectful manner, then the public might consider both of you to be fools. 

So the Messenger said, “We don’t want our people acting unrighteous regardless of who acts unrighteous towards us. We must not do so ourselves since we represent ourselves as righteous people.” (Then be righteous.)

Now understand something: That is coupled with the fact that you have the right to defend yourself if attacked physically. But as long as someone is just talking, you don’t have to stand there and listen to it. You don’t have to let them pull you into an insulting match with them. Let them make a fool of themselves all by themselves; and that’s what righteousness will do for you. 

So this is what I tell my followers all of the time. You don’t see my followers out here on the street arguing with anyone. What is that going to gain? Agree with your adversary quickly. “Okay man, right on. I’m out of here.” 

It’s fruitless to try to argue with a fool, because a fool wouldn’t be a fool if he understood that there are two sides to an argument; and if both are seeking Truth, the Truth is going to tell you which side of that argument both of you should adopt. 

Sometimes you have to adopt the other person’s side. Once you hear the Truth and they explain it to you, then you have to say, “Oh man, I didn’t know that. You’re right.” Then you move on. 

But you have some people who are going to make “wrong” right, regardless of what you say. That’s a fool. 

So don’t waste your time. It’s like I tell my followers: When I’m telling you how something goes, I know you are used to thinking this way about it or that way about it; but when I give you guidance on how you should be thinking about it, you adopt my way. Don’t go your way. And you will find that you will be much more successful.
